TVA open house tomorrow in Blairsville

My buddy Chris Berry and I are heading to the TVA open house tomorrow dressed in our special rain dance attire, well maybe afterwards. I’ve never been to one of these, but he says it’s a great opportunity to chat with the TVA folks and learn some pretty cool stuff. I think it’s great that they do this and I hope they’ll allow me to snap a few photos.

TVA will hold an open house on Thursday, June 21, in Blairsville, Ga., to receive public comments concerning the use of TVA-managed land on Appalachia, Blue Ridge, Chatuge, Fontana, Hiawassee, Nottely, and Ocoee 1, 2, and 3 reservoirs. The open house will be held from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. EDT at the Blairsville Campus of North Georgia Technical College. For more information please go to www.tva.gov/environment/reports/mtnres

If you have any questions or concerns, please call Laura Duncan at 423-876-4187.

Hat-tip to Julie for providing the TVA info!

UPDATE: I’ll post my take on the meeting this weekend.

I ran into Julie’s folks at the meeting only because they happened to know Chris. Turns out her dad played football with my dad at Bass High School in Atlanta. What a small world!

PS: If my ATL neighbors are reading, please give me a call, post, or send me an email. I didn’t make it down to the dock for 3 days and the left front part of your dock is now on dry land. I couldn’t budge it alone but I think it’s salvageable with some help but need to hurry.
