End of Summer, What a Bummer

Below are some shots from the last day (w/o trailering the boat) on the lake. Our dock is in about 4 feet of water now so it was time to pull the boat into storage for the winter. The weather is still great for watersports, but the water is starting to get a bit chilly. Of course I had to bend the prop on the last run to the trailer. Fortunately, I was running at idle speed so the prop can be mailed-off to be repaired, unlike like the prop my wife mangled last year. Be on the lookout for rock & boulder piles 100 feet from shore!

Thank you for posting this site. I love the commentary and the pictures. I have caught myself relating & laughing pretty often.

Until recently, my husband did boat bottoms and propeller pulls for repair in Florida. You did a fine job of mangling the prop yourself! The bent over tip of one blade will probably crack when they heat it and band it back. So all in all, your propeller job isn’t that much better than your wife’s! Both of those props can be fixed, it just depends on the cost of the replacement as to whether it is worth it or not.

Back in May you commented on how well your new webcam works (it does) and how it was a good value. Can you share what webcam it is? Right now, you are the closest link to seeing what is going on here when we aren’t. We are on Lake Nottley and some of our family is there on Blue Ridge. Since we have high speed internet, a lake cam sounds like such a good idea

The prop new is around $300. Based upon your observations, shipping, etc., it looks like it might be another shiny new prop for next year! Any idea what it would cost to repair? Are repaired ones good-as-new or do they ride like an old wrecked car?

The cam is currently a 4XEM PTZ. Great cam for the money.

Sounds like you need to find a place you can purchase props by the dozen. LOL
I live on Lake Chickamauga on the Tennesse River. Nothing like lake living. Have a good winter and your web cam is fun to watch. Keep up the good work.
